Overview
This is the step-by-step guide on setting up your Lumicast digital signage solution with your Samsung Tizen consumer Smart TV displays.
Configure your TV and browser settings
Consumer Samsung Smart TVs are not by default optimally suited for running digital signage players like Lumicast. We need to for example make sure Lumicast always starts when turning on the TV and make sure the browser’s navigation bar gets hidden when Lumicast is playing.
Make sure Lumicast will reopen on startup
On your TV’s remote, click on the settings button. If this does not work, you can open the settings menu by going to the home screen and then clicking on the hamburger icon in the bottom of the menu on the left.
In the menu, navigate all the way to the right until you see “All Settings”:
Then go to “General & Privacy”:
Navigate down to “Start Screen Options” and make sure “Autorun Last App” is enabled:
Configure the Internet Browser
Open the Internet Browser app that is installed on your TV by default. Navigate to https://player.lumicast.com. You will notice that the navigation bar will stay open, which is not very appealing. We want Lumicast to be able to display your content in full screen. In order to do this, we need to adjust some settings in the browser.
Move the cursor to the hamburger icon on the top right of the screen and go to “Settings”:
In the settings screen, make sure the following options are configured:
You can now exit the settings and return to Lumicast. Verify that Lumicast is opened by default by turning off the TV and turning it back on. If Lumicast comes back in full screen, you are all set!
