First off, make sure you install the Lumicast Signage Player on your Android device.
Enabling auto start
- Open the Lumicast Signage Player app
- Click on the OK/enter button on your remote. If you are working with a touch device, swipe up anywhere on the screen. This opens up the menu.
- Go to “Launch on boot” and enable it. First it may ask you to give permission to “draw over other apps” — this is a necessary permission, so you should give the Lumicast Signage Player that permission.
- After giving the permission, press the Launch on boot button again. It should turn the red cross into a green checkmark.
Testing the auto start
Reboot your device completely.
Are you working with a Chromecast or similar? Pressing the power button will only put your Chromecast to sleepmode, so turning it back on won’t trigger the autoboot of the app. Instead, go to Settings > System > Restart.
The Lumicast player should start once the device comes back on.
The app did not start automatically?
You likely have to perform more advanced steps, since your device doesn’t support the normal flow for autobooting. Follow the steps here.
