How to change the output resolution on a Lumicast Pixie player

Quick guide to adjusting your Pixie player's screen resolution for optimal display quality.

If you’ve connected a Lumicast Pixie player to a screen and want to adjust the output resolution (for instance, switching from 1920x1080 (1080p) to 3840x2160 (4K)), you’ll need to configure these settings on the Pixie device. Screen resolution refers to the number of pixels displayed horizontally and vertically on the screen. Higher resolutions offer more detail and clarity, but they may also demand more processing power from your Pixie player. Selecting the right resolution depends on your screen’s size, capabilities, and how you’re using the Pixie player.

What You'll Need:

  • A keyboard
  • A mouse

Steps to Adjust Resolution:

Step 1: Connect the Keyboard

  • Attach a keyboard to the Pixie player using a USB connection.

Step 2: Open Display Settings

  • Press the Windows key (or Mac OS key, depending on your keyboard layout).
  • A menu will appear in the bottom left corner.
  • Navigate to Preferences and click on Monitor Settings.

Step 3: Select the Desired Resolution

  • A new window will pop up with display settings.
  • Click on the Resolution dropdown menu to view a list of supported resolutions.
  • Choose your desired resolution (e.g., 3840x2160 for 4K).
  • After selecting, click Apply.

You’ll have 15 seconds to confirm your changes. If everything looks correct, click Save to make the change permanent. Otherwise, the system will revert to the previous resolution.

You can now close the settings window or reboot your device if needed.
